There are individual episodes of the animated series, especially the early seasons, equal or better in quality. I heard that the new Batman movie takes elements from this story or at least inspiration. Now I hear this…I have never read too many DC comics, typically Marvel stuff. For someone who knows more or less the basics of Batman, would this be a good trade to pick up to read? Absolutely. Personally, I find this to be the greatest Batman story ever. And basic knowledge of Batman is all you need. I would highly recommend it.
