The fabric is very soft although the painted design was just slightly coarser. This doesn’t concern me because from experience with products from this company, the design gets softer with each washing. I was very pleased that the shirt itself was so soft. My understanding is that size charts are for the customer’s body measurements. According to the size chart with this product, I should wear a large. The product description warned, “fits large, size down.” I ordered a medium.
The medium is 19″ pit to pit. That means, it’s 38″ around. The size chart says medium is 38″ to 40″, which I took to mean the range of actual chest measurements, not the measurement of the garment. The actual garment measurement would surely be just one number, and not a range. Therefore, at least in my t-shirt, this medium is really a size small. Maybe the sizing is inconsistent?

The only thing that was different this time was that the large panel of print makes it a bit sweatier. (I’m pretty sure it’s an oil based ink the way it retains humidity.)
Nonetheless, these shirts are a sturdy good quality cotton that lasts years.
