It’s shocking and disgraceful that I didn’t learn about him in school. Booker T Washington High School in Tulsa makes it a point to teach students about this. She was the nicest woman I’ve ever met, and she made a point every day about mutual respect and the benefit of the doubt. I refuse to call it that. It’s the 1921 Tulsa Massacre as far as I’m concerned.
